UPDATE April 11, 2008 08:15 hrs Daniel scores top ten result in his first Free Practice session:Friday afternoon sessions are usually reserved for the designated drivers but with team mate Wickens flying in today, Daniel would have the chance to participate in his first free practice. He would be on pace immediately.

With this outing, Daniel would have his first chance at running on race tires rather than the practice tires used for the rookie sessions and he would go on to set a top ten time and certainly showed some speed. He would put in just eleven laps but that was enough to get data and setup information for Wickens' sessions on Saturday.

"It was fantastic to get out their with the series regulars and have a chance to run fresh tires" commented Daniel. "But we kept the lap count low to save tires for the next session. I am happy to have ended up in the top ten and will now sit with Robert to talk about the track and go over data."

Daniel will be heading directly to Los Angeles from China on Sunday to prepare for his first Atlantic race in Long Beach next weekend (April 18-20)

UPDATE April 11, 2008 00:15 hrs -Rookie practice sessions are complete and Daniel continued to improve his times. He would end session two with the fastest sector three time and is P4 overall with a time if 1:36.969 at a speed of 170.9 Kmh. Daniel had shaved 6/10ths off his best time in session one.

Daniel will be back on track at 02:00 hrs for a full 60-minute session alongside designated drivers. He is filling in for team mate Robert Wickens who is en route from Europe. We will post practice times in the morning.

April 08, 2008 - A1 Team Canada today announced the drivers for this coming weekend's race in Shanghai, China and once again, Daniel has been selected at the designated rookie. This time around, in addition to participating in the Friday morning sessions for series rookies, Daniel will also take the seat on Friday afternoon for the first primary session as his team mate, Robert Wickens will be en route from Barcelona, Spain where he is testing for a series in Europe.

"This is a great opportunity to get some extra seat time in the A!GP car" commented Daniel before heading to the airport on Monday for the long flight to Shanghai. "The A1 Team Canada crew is fantastic to work with and any extra time we can get behind the wheel to work things out with the team on setup and strategy is a real bonus."
