6 - Road America Everyone has a bad day... Make it up tomorrow |
|
August 13, 2007 - Road America
- Daniel suffered with setup issues through qualifying
in an effort to get it just right for the long, but very
fast race course. "We did better for race 12 after
taking the car 'back to zero' on setup and making a few
minor adjustments. Saturday's race did not go well with
some early race contact damaging the wing forcing Daniel
to fight for positions throughout. Eventually he would
go off course with just two laps to go and finish P15. Things went much better on Sunday and Daniel, starting from P4, would hold off any challenges and come across the line for his ninth podium of the year. He is now concentrating on the next - and final round of the series which takes place at his home track in Bowmanville, Ontario. "We have a 67 point lead in the championship coming to Mosport for the final races. It is my home track but our preparation will be as if it is any other day at any other track." noted Daniel. "The focus is to wrap up the championship regardless. The fact I will have the chance to do it in front of family, friends and supporters is a bonus." Daniel will hit the track in his #70 Red Bull FB02 on Thursday (23rd) for a final test session before the race. |
