|
Race Update July 7, 2007 -Markham, Ontario- It would be an eventful day for Daniel as he would serve a drive-through penalty in the first race of the day and bring the Eurointernational #70 BMW FB02 home in seventh place. Race two on the day would go a lot better as Daniel would lead from flag to flag and take the win. He was credited with the fastest lap in both races. "I was a little too ready in Round 7 and jumped the start. This afternoon I got away perfectly and had a 10 second lead after the first lap. I could see Sebastian was on a mission and he brought the gap down to one second. There was traffic at the end of the race and it was frustrating, but everything worked out okay." Incidents involving his nearest rival allowed Daniel take a large lead in the chanpionship going into rounds 9 &10 at San Jose in three weeks. Daniel qualifies pole for both races July 6, 2007 Markham, Ontario - Racing at Lime Rock means getting it done in a hurry as there is no racing action on Sunday. Daniel and the Eurointernational crew would put it all together after one practice session to top the charts in both qualifying sessions for Saturday's two races. After a tight battle for the round seven pole a mid day downpour cleared some of the rubber from the track. Daniel would use a drying track to his advantage and pace the field to tp the charts for round 8 by just ovber 3-tenths. Both races go on Saturday and the teams will get an early start. Round 7 is at 9:45 a.m and race 8 at 12:45. We will get resulkts as comments later in the day. |
